How packing works
On the call we go through what you'd like packed and how much there is, and agree when the packing happens, before or on moving day.
You stay in charge of the things that should never go on a truck: documents, medications, jewellery and anything irreplaceable stays with you.
If you're packing yourself
- Start with the rooms you use least (the storage room, the guest room, the bookshelves) a couple of weeks out
- Heavy things in small boxes, light things in big boxes
- Fill boxes so they don't rattle or crush, and tape them closed
- Write the room and 'fragile' on the side of each box, not just the top
- Pack a first-night box: kettle, toiletries, chargers, medications, bedding and a change of clothes
- Keep documents and valuables with you
What shouldn't go on a moving truck
Flammable and hazardous items like propane tanks, gasoline, paint thinner and ammunition don't belong in a moving truck. Set them aside before we arrive, and ask us on the call if you're unsure about anything.

Can I pack some things myself and have you pack the rest?
Yes. Tell us what you'd like packed when we call (some people pack everything except the kitchen and the fragile pieces) and we'll include it in your quote.
Is packing available for long-distance moves?
Yes. Packing is available with local, long-distance and interprovincial moves.
How far ahead should I book packing?
As early as you can, because packing adds time to the job. Short on time? We also do last-minute moves.
What should I keep with me instead of packing?
Documents, medications, jewellery, keys, chargers and anything irreplaceable. Keep them in a bag that travels with you.
